Offers

Introduction

Fanplayr can present offers (promotions or discount codes) to users to incentivize them to complete a conversion goal. They are typically used to motivate non-purchasing users to complete a purchase, or as an upsell to users to increase AOV.

  • Offers are managed at the campaign-level.

  • They define details such as monetary value, discount code, and messaging as well as the maximum quantity that may be presented.

  • Offers are presented to users via widgets which are displayed on your site.

  • You use Segments & Actions to control how and when offers will be presented.

General

Name

The offer's name is a unique string that identifies the offer throughout the Portal.

Anticipated Retail Value

The anticipated retail value is used internally by Fanplayr to rank offers by their monetary value. When multiple offers are available for presentation to users, Fanplayr will opt to present lower-value offers to maximize your margins.

Display Text Translations

The display text properties of an offer represent values which can be translated and used in widgets to support multilingual sites.

Properties

  • Offer Text Typically used as the offer's title or description. It is required.

  • Minimum Purchase Minimum purchase amount or a message to display to users in order for them to redeem the offer.

  • Additional Conditions Used for special terms that are required to redeem the offer. For example, it could inform users that the discount only applies to specific products. It supports a maximum length of 200 characters. This number can be increased upon request if needed.

Default translation

Initially there will only be a "Default" translation. This defines the default values to use for the display texts (in widgets) when you have no language captured, or you a language captured that you have not specified in translations.

For example, if you have default and German translations, but a user is browsing your Spanish site they will be shown the default translations.

If your site only supports one language then you will only need to define the default translation.

Alternate translations

Multilingual sites can define additional translations to support their needs by clicking the Add action at the top of the card.

Alternate translations are only used at runtime when displaying widgets with offers to visitors on your site. In the Fanplayr Portal you will always see the Default text values displayed in lists of offers.

See Translations to read more about how the best translation is determined for each visitor on your site.

Discount Code

The primary element of an offer is the discount code. This must exist in your e-commerce system as Fanplayr does not automatically add them.

Discount codes can be defined either as a reusable code or using single-use code list. These are described below:

Reusable Code

  • Defines a single discount code which can be reused multiple times.

  • The same code will be shown to each user that is presented the offer.

  • You can limit the maximum number of times the offer can be redeemed by specifying a usage limit. Fanplayr keeps track of the number of times the offer is presented and redeemed, and when the offer approaches its redemption limit Fanplayr will automatically disable it.

Your integration to Fanplayr may include Session Offer functionality. If so, reusable codes will appear as different codes to each user. This allows you to have reusable codes in your system, but to protect them from being reused or shared by your users.

Single-Use Code List

  • Defines a unique list of codes where each code will only be presented once. This ensures that each user will receive their own unique discount code.

  • Your e-commerce platform will define the same list of unique codes and ensure that they can only be redeemed once.

  • Fanplayr will automatically disable the offer in its system if all of the codes have been presented. You can control the threshold at which Fanplayr will notify and automatically disable single-use offers from the Options page.

Schedule

You can customize the validity period of an offer with a start and end date. If the offer is outside of the validity period it is considered disabled.

Time Zone

Campaign: The dates will be in the campaign time zone.

User: The system will determine the offer's validity based on the dates in the end user's browser time zone.

Validity Period Start

The date and time that the offer begins to be valid. If the value is empty, the offer is always valid until the end date.

Validity Period End

The date and time that the offer ends being valid. If the value is empty, the offer is valid for all time after the start date.
